Options Summer Festival

Yesterday we had our second annual Options Summer Festival. We started the day with a coffee morning where people made a donation for a tea or coffee and one of our delicious cakes or scones. The 12-hour sponsored Sing-along-a-Danceathon kicked off at 8:30am with Options members and staff taking it in turns to sing and dance for 12 hours throughout the day. We ran stalls including a tombola, raffle, guess how many sweets in the jar and guess the name of the teddy. We also had a treasure hunt, penalty shoot out and face painter. The day ended with a BBQ and a big last dance to celebrate the end of the Danceathon. In total we raised over £1,000 for Options again so we'd like to say a massive thank you to everyone who came and supported us!

Great Options Bake Off

Today we baked for the full day getting ready for the coffee morning as part of the Options Summer Festival tomorrow morning. We made just over 200 cakes and scones! We made orange and cranberry scones and cheese scones, and vanilla and chocolate cupcakes. We decorate the cupcakes with butter icing. Come down tomorrow morning between 10:30am and 12pm to try one!

Penalty shoot out

Today the goal came for our penalty shoot out stall at the festival so we decided to try it out.

Putting Festival Posters Up

This afternoon Ben, Charlotte, Kevin and Brian went to put up posters around the town for our summer festival. We called in at the Party in the Park fair at Woodham and got contact details for a face painter for the event. Then we went to Woodham Community Centre, Tesco, and the town centre to stick up more posters.

There was an animal themed fair on in the town centre where Kevin and Brian petted a blue-tongued lizard and had their photo taken with an owl.
